About Laing Thermotech, Inc.
The Laing family of companies had its
beginnings in Stuttgart, Germany in the early 1970's with
the introduction of unique solar and pump products.
Born from extensive research and development activities,
Laing now has a large number of registered patents in
consumer, commercial, and industrial markets.
From its initial success in Europe, Laing
entered the U.S. market in 1983 with the formation of Laing
Thermotech, Inc., in San Diego, California. Current
operations within the Laing family group include research and
development facilities in Stuttgart, Germany; manufacturing
entities in Budapest, Hungary; sales and marketing operations
in Osaka, Japan; and sales, marketing, and distribution
facilities in San Diego, California. Today, Laing’s
primary focus is on the manufacture of fractional horsepower
pumps, flow-through heaters, and hydronic heating
components.
Laing's patented, spherical motor design is
truly “state-of-the-art” in pump technology and eliminates
problematic shafts, seals, and bearings found in conventional,
mechanically sealed pumps. The rotor/impeller is the only
moving part in the entire pump and is magnetically balanced on
a stationary, ceramic bearing inside the pump housing.
The motor is separated from the wetted pump parts by a
Stainless Steel or Titanium partition, producing a truly
seal-less, leak-proof centrifugal pump that requires no
external lubrication. The pump is literally maintenance
free.
Similar to Laing’s highly developed pump and
motor design, the heating products employ unique technologies
which ensure the most durable and reliable components
available. Laing product designs are truly superior --
they are more reliable; compact and lightweight; less expensive
to install and operate; easier to service in the field; and
have over 25 years of successful field service, in millions
of installations worldwide.
